About Us
Retain Access is part of the Retain Limited group of companies, a well-established, award-winning three-in-one contractor with experts in industrial and commercial roofing, scaffolding installation, safety netting and access solutions, and roof-mounted solar PV design and fixtures. We found unique space in the market to offer clients a structured approach by eliminating the need for multiple contractors by streamlining the process by being a one-point, trusted contact for clients. This approach builds both a strong client-contractor relationship and clear communication between project site workers.
We are headquartered in the South West in Britain’s ocean city, Plymouth. However, we deliver our services nation-wide. Retain has a large number of former Royal Marine employees both on-site and office-based and is proud to support the Royal Marines Charity on an ongoing basis and have been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme’s Silver Award in 2022.

Here, at Retain Access, we provide premium, specialist scaffolding installation, safety netting and access solutions across the nation. All of our on-site operatives have acquired the necessary and desirable skills and industry qualifications to enable them to deal with all aspects of scaffolding installation, maintenance and removal.
We are proud to have a customer centric approach to each job we embark on and are committee to ensuring all of our clients are 100% happy with their scaffolding structure at each stage of their project.

Retain are proud to work closely with the Royal Marines Charity (RMA): a fantastic charitable organisation that aims to provide a lifetime of support to the Royal Marines Family.
We endeavour to provide employment opportunities and help other Royal Marines adjust to life as UK civilians. We strive to help educate, train and create bespoke career pathways, tailored to individual skill sets, to enable and encourage a successful and fulfilling life post-service.

Retain Limited group of companies holds multiple awards and certifications, including our CITB accreditations the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) Gold Award for Health and Safety six years in a row and we are approved Gold members of Constructionline.
We have also been awarded the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award and are working towards the ERS Gold Award. Achieving this award reflects the company's continuous commitment to supporting the armed forces community in a manner that aligns with the values of the Armed Forces Covenant.
Our Story
Retain Limited was established in 2008 by Founder and Director, Jamie Gibbs, as an industrial and commercial roofing contractor. Today, we continue to provide this well-established service under Retain Roofing (part of the Retain Limited group of companies).
After extensive experience in the roofing industry, it became clear that there was a gap in the market for a reliable scaffolding service that could handle the requirements of industrial and commercial projects. This is why Retain Access was founded.
Retain Energy was introduced to offer all of our customers the complete three-in-one project package, so they can harness the very latest sustainable energy solutions through roof-mounted solar PV systems and protect businesses from rising energy costs.
Our People
Our friendly, knowledgeable team consists of both on-site and office-based members who work closely together to ensure the best possible customer service for each and every one of our clients.
Our Founder and Director, Jamie Gibbs, is a former Royal Marine and the regional Chair of the Institute of Roofing (IoR). Jamie has extensive experience in the industrial and commercial industry, including management of on-site teams and implementing safety procedures that go above and beyond UK industry requirements.
At Retain, we invest heavily in our effective training programme, which creates a clear pathway for all of our staff to be proactive with their careers and achieve their full potential at work, delivering the best service to our clients.
